Question
Asak We are a family of 5,my sis is married and i along with my bro lives out of my home town becoz of our job.my parents live alone.a girl from my neighbour comes to my home since last 16 yrs.she belongs to a poor family,her parents send so she could study and help my ammi.she is 28yrs old now and done masters and we treat her like a family member. 3 months back,someone did black magic on my ammi,a piece of flesh hooked to her cloth which was hanging on terrace was found. my ammi strongly believe,it was done by the girl , since last 7yrs my ammi has become suspicious about her.ammi is a very kind hearted women,if she wants to help someone she goes out of her way,she treated that girl like her child.except my ammi,nobody in my family believes that girl has done magic,i ask,sher pleaded not guilty,but we don't have animosity with anyone ,nobody else on whom we suspect .my mom since last 7 yrs has become very high temper,she has fits of anger.if that girl is innocent i feel sorry for her.plz help us.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
First, it should be mentioned that suspecting a Muslim and accusing him of having done something just because of suspecting him without any evidence is considered a great sin. Therefore, if your mother has no evidence for accusing that girl, then this is an injustice and a clear lie for which she must repent. She must also ask that girl to forgive her; for more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 128834 and 92167.
Besides, the fact that there is a piece of meat may not be evidence that it is magic. What you mentioned about her that she has a bad temper and fits of anger may have other reasons.
In any case, if you are convinced and think that your mother is affected by magic, then the cure is easy, Allaah willing.
