Turning one's back to a board carrying Quranic verses

Question

What's ruling on doing back From the board on which Quranic Ayats are written and standing doing back from it?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Some scholars stated that it is disliked to turn one's back to the Mus-haf; the same applies to any board bearing Quranic verses. The Hanbali book Daqaa’iq Uli Al-Nuha Sharh Al-Muntaha reads:

"It is disliked to stretch one's legs in the direction of the Mus-haf or to turn one’s back to it. The same applies to all books of knowledge in which the Quran is quoted. This is out of respect for the Book of Allaah. It is also disliked to toss it to the ground without placing it or without a need for that. This is like laying one's head on the Mus-haf (disliked as well). A man once threw a book in the study circle of Imaam Ahmad so he became angry and said: 'Is this how to treat the words of the righteous?'"

Allaah Knows best.
