Question
Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu i wanna know something. usually when i go to washroom to urinate,i wash myself and dry the private part with tissue and after i step out of the washroom,i feel that something has come out from urethra.i check my panty but there would be nothing and i again go back to washroom to check by touching by private part at the place of urethral opening to feel if there is any wetness.so i wanna know whether it is sufficient just to check the panty or do i have to do this act of opening the labia and then touching the urethral opening to check in order to be sure? My second question is-wadhiy(the discharge emitted by some people after urination).is it possible that wadhiy can come out from vagina after urination or is it so that it comes out only from urethra in both male and female genders?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
If you have doubts that something came out, then you should ignore these doubts and act upon the continuity of presumption (the original state), namely that nothing has come out. You are advised not to examine your private parts or underwear to check if something has come out, and you should not determine that something has come out unless you are absolutely certain to the extent that you could swear to it.
You are also advised to repel such obsessive whispers and not to get carried away with them because this would incur grave evils. You may sprinkle water over your underwear after Istinjaa' so as to ward off those devilish whispers, because whenever you feel any wetness you would know that it is because of the water that you sprinkled.
As for the Wady, it is often discharged from the urethra after urination. It is ritually impure and requires performing Istinjaa’ and ablution.
