Not obligatory to remove ear wax in Wudhoo’ or Ghusl

Question

Asalumu alaikumIs it obligatory to remove earwax form ear for ghusl or wudu? Jazakallah khair

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

What is prescribed pertaining to the ear is to wash the visible part of the ear during the obligatory Ghusl and to wipe over it during Wudhoo’.

As for removing the ear wax that is inside the ear, it is not obligatory in Wudhoo’ or in Ghusl because it is not included in the visible part of the ear; rather, it is included in the internal part of the ear, which we are not commanded to wash.

Your question seems to reflect that you suffer from Waswaas (obsessive whisperings), and your previous questions clearly indicate that you suffer from Waswaas in matters pertaining to Wudhoo’ and Ghusl. We advise you to fear Allaah The Exalted and avoid getting carried away with such whisperings as they are a widespread evil.

Allaah Knows best.
