Some stories about miracle babies mere myths

Question

Assalaamu alaykum. It is rampant in Nigeria to claim that a child was born holding a mus-haf that contains six chapters from the Quran in his hand or that another child was born with marks on his forehead which people then claimed to be 'Allaah' in Arabic! I see it as deceptions from the devil; what can you say about it?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

We do not believe these stories to be true or conceivable. It seems that it is part of the myths circulated by people. This is not the way to prove that Islam is the true religion or to support it. Indeed, the creation of Allaah, His signs in the universe, and the creation of human beings abound in great wonders. Reflecting upon the signs of Allaah in the creation of the universe and mankind is adequate for the sane person to learn about the oneness of Allaah and believe with certainty in the authenticity of Islam as the true religion and the truthfulness of the Prophet, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, beyond doubt.

Allaah knows best.
