Question

Abu Hurayrah narrate that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, was asked, “Will we have sexual intercourse with our wives in Paradise?” He answered, “A person wil have sexual intercourse with 100 virgins in one morning.” Bayhaqi, Bazar, Tabaraani. Is this hadith authentic?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The hadeeth mentioned in the question was reported by several scholars with similar wordings. Among those who reported it was At-Tabaraani in Al-Mu’jam, from Abu Hurayrah may Allaah be pleased with him who said, “We asked the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ): Will we have sexual intercourse with our wives in Jannat (Paradise)? He answered, ‘Yes, by the One in Whose Hand my soul is, a man will have sexual intercourse with 100 virgins in one morning.’

Al-Albaani may Allaah have mercy upon him classified this hadeeth as saheeh (sound) in As-Silsilah As-Saheehah, no. 367, and then said:

It was narrated by Abu Nu’aym in Sifatul-Jannah (the Description of Paradise), and by Adh-Dhiyaa’ in Sifatul-Jannah as well, from At-Tabaraani with a chain of narrators from Husayn ibn ‘Ali al-Ju’fi, from Zaa'idah, from Hishaam ibn Hassaan, from Muhammad ibn Seereen, from Abu Hurayrah may Allaah be pleased with him that he said, ‘The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) was asked, ‘Will we have sexual intercourse with our wives in Jannat (Paradise)...’’; and he mentioned the hadeeth.

Al-Maqdisi said, ‘In my view, the narrators of this hadeeth meet the requirements of an authentic hadeeth.’ I say the same, as the chain of narrators is authentic and we do not know of any reason for its weakness; and I found another evidence for it in the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Abbaas attributed to the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention )...” [summarized]

Allah knows best.
