Fatwa CenterOften sees her deceased mother and grandmother in dreams
Question
I dream about my deceased mother often and just recently I been dreaming about my deceased grandmother could you please guide me or inform me what to do so I stop having these dreams?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
We have already issued Fatwa 83663 about what a person should do when he sees bad dreams or nightmares. It should be mentioned that one cannot rely on a dream in determining what will happen in the future, because seeing dead people in a dream could mean other things than what they really appear to be. Ibn Hajar
said: 'Interpretation of dreams is explaining the core of a dream by its outside appearances.'
