Allaah will turn animals on the Day of Judgement into dust

Question

Will the domestic animals enter paradise along with the people who cared for them after the reckoning on the Day of Judgment? Is there any mention about this in the Sunnah?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

There is no evidence in the Book of Allaah or the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) which states that the animals will enter paradise along the people who cared for them, however, there is evidence that on the Day of Judgment Allaah will turn all animals into dust. It is reported in a long narration that: "Allaah will make the animals which had no horns take revenge from the other animals which transgressed them, until there is no animal who would seek revenge from the other, then Allaah would say to them: “Turn into dust.” At this point, the non-Muslim will say: “Woe to me! I wish I were dust." [Ibn Jareer] Moreover, 'Abdullaah Ibn 'Amr may Allaah be pleased with him said: "When Allaah would have finished judging the animals, He would say to them: “Turn into dust." Abu Hurayrah may Allaah be pleased with him said: "Allaah would say to the animals and birds: “Turn into dust."

Allaah Knows best.
