ASSALAMU ALAIKUM! Is there any HISTORY of how Israel(Angel of death)Alaihis Salam got his Job? If any KINDLY provide me with full detail....! MAY ALLAH REWARD YOU & ALWAYS GUIDE & PRESERVE YOU & ME & WHOLE UMMATE MUSLIMAH!(AAMEEN!)
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
Nowhere in the Quran and Sunnah was the Angel of Death mentioned by the name 'Izraa'eel, as we stated in Fataawa 85150 and 87704. Similarly, there is no mention, as far as we know, of the time the Angel of Death began taking humans' souls or when he was entrusted with this mission. A Muslim should not waste his/her time or the time of others in such questions which entail no act or duty.
