Bride and groom entering a women's hall together

Question:

Salamualaikum
Is is haram for the bride and groom to enter the wedding gathering together, even if the hall is segregated with only women (wearing full hijab)?. The groom does not normally stay long because he has to leave so he can attend his own wedding gathering, he only comes in with the bride so that other people can see him and then leaves? This is practiced in many arab/asain traditions, but I want to know if this acceptable in Islam or not.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The Muslims should not do this habit or keep on doing it even if the ladies upon whom the groom enters wear Hijab, as this may provoke temptation. Moreover, some scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them are of the view that it is not permissible for a woman to look at a man even without any desire. As regards a woman looking at a man with desire, then this is not permissible according to the view of all the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them.

It should be noted that whoever knows that the reasons of temptation are so many nowadays, then it becomes clear to him that it is impossible to avoid temptation when a woman looks at a man. Indeed, being safe from this has no rival.
