Not metaphors of divorce

Question:

Please, is any of these four statements a Kinaayah (metaphor) for divorce:
- Your Lord will spread out for you of His mercy
- Recompense me for that and replace it for me with something better
- O Allah, recompense me for that and replace it for me with something better
- O Allah, recompense me with something better?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ʻalayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

All the mentioned statements are not Kinaayah of divorce because they do not indicate separation, nor do they denote divorce. Therefore, divorce does not take effect by any of them.

Muslims should beware of Waswasah (obsessive whisperings) regarding divorce and other matters. Indulgence in thinking of and acting upon such whisperings causes grave evils, and the best remedy for them is to completely disregard them. Please refer to fatwa 278194.

Allaah knows best.
