Allah Almighty only knower of Unseen

Question:

Can something besides Allah hear, see, or know something when they are not there? Does a stone or a tree hear, see, or know what is in the heavens, for example? I often think of such questions; I believe that they come from the devil. Please answer me.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The creed of the Muslims is that it is only Allah Alone Who knows the Unseen; Allah says (what means): {Say: None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah.} [Quran 27:65]

There is nothing in the creation that knows anything about the Unseen except for what Allah informed them about, as Allah says (what means): {[He is the] Knower of the Unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] Unseen to anyone, except whom He has approved of Messengers, and indeed, He sends before each Messenger and behind him observers.} [Quran 72:26-27]

Therefore, the Prophets, the angels, the Awliya (the Allies of Allah), and the pious people, let alone the stones and trees, and so forth, do not know anything of the Unseen in the heavens or anywhere else because the knowledge of the Unseen is something that Allah kept exclusively for Himself.

Hence, you should believe in this and not pay any attention to the questions that you may have about this as this is but from the devil.

Allah knows best.
