Eating meat from people who practice Shirk

Question:

I am from India. In India we the Muslims commits lots of Shirk such as seeking help from dead, wearing Tawiz, etc. These are mostly a sect called Barelwi. And they hardly pray Salat. My question is can I eat the meat which is slaughtered by these deviants groups?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

We have already issued a Fatwa: 87790 regarding the sect of Al Barailwiya.

We have explained in that Fatwa that their beliefs consist of many serious deviations and aberrations; whoever believes as such, without any doubt, goes out of Islam. If one is raised believing in this faith he is a non-Muslim and whoever adopts it after embracing Islam, he becomes an apostate, in both cases we are not allowed to eat meat slaughtered by them.

Whoever seeks aid from other than Allaah in matters in which only He has power, or he hangs amulets believing that they safeguard him against misfortune decreed by Allaah, or he has faith in similar disbeliefs that take him out of Islam, he should be taught and the proofs demonstrated to him first. If the proofs have been explained to him, and still he insists on his faith and practices them willingly, then he becomes a non-Muslim and consequently meat slaughtered by him is not allowed.

Allaah Knows best.
