For those who cannot afford it,
they should fast three days during the Hajj and seven
days after it. It is permissible to fast the first three days on
the eleventh, twelfth and thirteenth days of the month. It is
permissible to fast the seven days following your return
successively or in separation. After you slaughter your
offering, you should shave your heads (women cut some hairs).
Soon after you finish throwing pebbles and shaving your heads,
all forbidden acts of Ihraam will be permissible to you
except intercourse with your wives. You may wear your normal
clothes and apply perfume, then go to Makkah where you
should make Tawaaf for Hajj around the Sacred
House. Then, you should make Sa’ i between Safaa
and Marwah. On doing this, all forbidden acts of
Ihraam will be lawful to you even intercourse with your
wives.
O Muslims! The pilgrims perform
great rituals on the Day of ‘Eed; this is why Allah
called this day as Al-Hajj Al-Akbar (the Greater
Pilgrimage). They throw the pebbles at Jamrat
Al-‘Aqabah, then slaughter their offerings, then shave their
heads or cut them short, then circumambulate the House and make
Sa’ i between Safaa and Marwah. It will be
preferable to do all these on the day of ‘Eed in
conformity with the same order, but there will be no harm if
they do not stick strictly to such order. Whenever the Prophet
was asked about shifting the order of these rituals, he would
permit it, out of facilitation and out of kindness towards the
servants of Allah. If you delay Tawaaf and Sa’ i
until you leave Mina, there will be no harm in that, but
you will not be permitted to have intercourse with your wives
before fulfilling these rituals. It is permissible to delay
slaughtering of the offering until the thirteenth day of the
month, thus you will slaughter it in Makkah .
O people! You should spend the
eleventh and twelfth nights in Mina and throw the pebbles
during these two days after the midday. Start with the First
Jamrah, throwing seven pebbles and pronouncing Takbier
with each pebble. Then advance to be far from the crowds and
make long supplication to Allah, while facing the Qiblah
and raising your hands. You should then throw the Middle
Jamrah, throwing seven pebbles and pronouncing Takbeer
with each pebble. Then advance to be far from the crowds and
make long supplication to Allah. You should then throw Jamrat
Al-‘Aqabah, throwing seven pebbles and pronouncing
Takbeer with each pebble. You should then leave without
standing to make supplication, since this was the conduct of the
Prophet (peace be upon him).
