She, may Allah be pleased with her, remained in Abyssinia until the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), requested An-Najaashi, the King of Abyssinia who had embraced Islam, to propose to her on his behalf, which An-Najaashi did. He himself paid her dowry of four hundred Deenar (gold coins), on behalf of the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ). Her guardian during the marriage ceremony was her maternal cousin ‘Uthmaan bin ‘Affaan, may Allah be pleased with him.
After that, the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), sent Sharhabeel bin Hasnah, may Allah be pleased with him, to bring her, may Allah be pleased with her, to him. The Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), married her in the year 6 A.H., and she, may Allah be pleased with her, passed away in 40 A.H.
She was distinguished because:
- She, may Allah be pleased with her, honoured the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), so much that she refused to allow her own father to sit on a mat that was for the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), because he was a disbeliever at the time.

He, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), inquired as to the reason for her weeping. When she recounted what had happened, the Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), said to her: “You are the daughter (descendant) of a Prophet (Haaroon, may Allah exalt his mention), and your uncle is a Prophet (Moosaa, may Allah exalt his mention) and you are the wife of a Prophet; so what does she have that she can boast about?” [At-Tirmithi]
