Question

Please explain to us what Allaah ('azza wa jalla) means when He says "wa qarrabnaahu najiyyaa" about Prophet Moosaa ('alayhi-s-salaam) in Soorah Maryam.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

Allaah Says about His slave and Messenger Moosa (Moses) may Allaah exalt his mention (what means): {And We called him from the side of the mount (Sinai) at [his] right and brought him near, confiding [to him].}[Quran 19:52] “Confiding to him” means speaking and revealing to him secrets in private. Allaah brought him near until he heard the creaking of the pen in the Preserved Book, as reported by Ibn ‘Abbaas may Allaah be pleased with him. This is indeed an honour for Moosa may Allaah exalt his mention that Allaah honoured him by speaking to him directly, bringing him near and making him a Prophet.

Allaah Knows best.
