Do these phrases involve disbelief?

Question

Salam Alykoum Wa Rahmatu Allah AlHamdulliah I pray 5 times a day,I don't drink, and I fast Ramdan. This year I made Hajj, and became more careful about words I say. I used to listen to music a lot in the past, and it is my habit to repeat behind the singer, now that I became more aware of the words I say, some songs that I used to sing along have words like"I am a vodoo child" or " stopped into a church I passed along the way, I got down on my knees and I pretend to pray, the preacher likes it cold he knows I am gonna stay" Al Hamdullah I no longer listent to those songs, but I am concerned that when I sang them along the sigers in the past, that this is like being a Kafir who is outside of this Umma. Please Sheikh Advise me, I love Islam so much

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, we ask Allaah to reward you for treading the path of righteousness and for being keen on performing religious obligations and acts of obedience and refraining from sins and acts of disobedience. We ask Him to forgive your past sins and protect you from sinning in the future.

The words and phrases you mentioned in your question do not involve disbelief, so you should not worry and you should not take into consideration any whispers you might have about you committing an act of disbelief. Rather, you should occupy yourself with what benefits you in both, your worldly matters and those of the Hereafter.

Allaah Knows best.
