Question
How many pillars has Arsy? How big is the pillars? When was it cretaed? Will it also destroy in dooms day?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
reported that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Do not give a prophet superiority over another, for on the Day of Resurrection all the people will fall unconscious and I will be the first to emerge from the earth, and I will see Moosa (Moses) holding on to one of the pillars of the Throne. I will not know whether he was among those who had fallen unconscious (before me) or if his first unconsciousness (at the Tur (mountain) which he received on the earth) was sufficient for him.” However there is no mention of the number of the pillars of the throne".
As for your question about the destruction of the Throne on the Day of Judgment, then there are many prooftexts underlining that the Throne shall not perish or be destroyed. Prof. At-Tameemi wrote in the introduction of his revision of Al-‘Arsh, “The righteous predecessors, scholars, and all Ahlus-Sunnah Wal-Jamaa‘ah unanimously agreed that some of the created objects shall not perish or come to an end (on the Last Day) such as Paradise, Hellfire, and the Throne. Thus, we come to know that the Throne shall not be among other created objects that shall be seized, folded, and altered on the Day of Judgment. There are numerous prooftexts in the Quran and Sunnah supporting that fact. For example, Allaah, The Exalted, says (what means): {And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow * Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur,* And the heaven will split [open], for that Day it is infirm.* And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].} [Quran 69:14-17] Shaykhul-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah 
said, “The Throne was not created in the six days during which the universe was created and it is not among the created objects that shall be destroyed and come to an end on the Last Day. There are famous Ahaadeeth underlining the fact that the Throne shall not perish or be destroyed; it has been authentically reported that the Throne is directly above Paradise. The Prophet said: “…so if you ask Allaah for anything, ask Him for the Firdaws, for it is the best and highest part of Paradise and the middle part of Paradise, and over it is the Throne of The Ever Merciful...”
We would like to point out that there is no relation between the number of the pillars of the Throne and the number of the angels bearing the Throne. Scholars have had different opinions regarding the number of the angels carrying the Throne. Allaah, The Exalted, says (what means): {And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them].} [Quran 69:17]
- The first opinion is that they are eight rows of angels of whose exact number only Allaah knows.
- The second opinion is that they are eight groups out of nine upholding the Throne.
- The third opinion suggests that the number of the angels upholding the Throne, now and on the Day of Judgment, is eight.
- The fourth opinion is that the number of carriers of the Throne now is four and on the Day of Judgment it shall be eight. This opinion was considered the preponderant opinion by Ibn Katheer and Ibn Al-Jawzi, and the latter said, “This is the opinion adopted by the majority of scholars.”
Prof. At-Tameemi commented after citing those four opinions, “Perhaps this is the correct opinion in this regard; however, there is no explicit and authentic Hadeeth reported in this regard.”
