Using a tape with incomplete Quranic verses or words

Question

I want to ask is it lawful to use a tape that unintentionally misses a part from a Quranic verse, or sometimes words are recited not in the correct order or sometimes half a word is omitted because some parts of the tape were cut out? Can we overlook these errors in the tape by turning the volume down until the reciter finishes these verses?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

It is well known that every chapter in the Quran is an integrated unit in terms of its verses, meanings and style. Anything that interrupts this is a type of violation to the Book of Allaah the Almighty, which must not occur.

It also makes it confusing for the listener, especially if the person has not memorized what is being recited. If this is the case you should destroy this tape and not listen to it. This must also be done if the tape omits some verses or parts of the words.

Allaah Knows best.
