Partaking in Sharee’ah-violating TV programs for Da‘wah

Question

Is it permissible to partake in a TV program that is presented by a woman who does not wear Hijaab and features musical intervals for the purpose of giving Da‘wah?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

It is impermissible to partake in a TV program that is presented by a woman who does not wear Hijab and that includes music. This should not be done under the pretext of Da‘wah. Rather, one should exert every effort in Da‘wah through lawful means and go to places that do not result in committing sins.

We can introduce the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, to people, talk about his noble physical and moral traits and ward off his enemies through Internet sites, magazines, and media channels. We can do so without having to participate in or watching indecent TV programs.

Allaah Knows best.
