Question
If somebody has anal sex with his wife, would it be considered that he has divorced his wife?
Answer
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
If the man has anal intercourse with his wife this is not considered a divorce. But it is a major sin. The Prophet said: "Whoever has intercourse with a menstruating woman or with a woman in her anus and whoever comes to a sooth say, (whoever does any of these) he has disbelieved in what was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessing be upon him)" Al Tirmizi from Abu Huraira. Abu Dawood also narrated from Abu Huraira that he said: "Cursed is any man who has intercourse with a woman in her anus" Al Suyuty and Al Albany said this Hadith is sound.
So, any man who happens to have intercourse with his wife in her anus should repent to Allah and ask forgiveness from this major sin and never do it again. But this is not a kind of divorce. So it does not make his wife unlawful to him.
