Is it wrong for a female to wear tampons? Some people say yes if your are a virgin. Is that true?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Having asked a doctor about the side affects of tampons, she replied that they can cause the deflowering of the girl. They also cause inflammations like vaginitis as well as congestions.
Basing on the doctor's reply, we say that using these tampons is forbidden for the harm they can cause.
The Prophet said: "No one should cause harm to himself or to others". Again, the deflowering of the girl can lead her to committing Zina.
