Watching evil movies during fast

Question

1. What would happen if I see an evil movie during my fasting, in school?
2. How can I get verses of The Qur'an that help with practicing my fast?
3. I would like to know the number of Muslim people there are in the U.S. as of the years 2001-2002?

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Watching evil films is neither permissible during Ramadan nor at other times. A person should always bear that he will stand before Allah on a Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, except him who comes to Allah with a clean heart (clean from polytheism and hypocrisy).

Therefore, one who commits such sins should turn to Allah in repentance and stop committing sins as they make one subject to Allah's wrath and render his heart hard and harsh.

The sins are even graver and more serious if they are committed in the month of Ramadan. Moreover, if these films are pornographic, then watching them nullifies the fast if one ejaculates. Some scholars even believe that if that leads only to have the pre-seminal fluid, then the fast becomes null.

Anyway, this practice is considered as breaking the fast intentionally, and this is a major sin.

Allah knows best.
