Muslims in the West Want to Make Hijrah But Muslim States Are Not Hospitable

Question

The situation of Muslims living in the West like myself is bad. I would love to make Hijrah for Allah, but none of the Muslim states have good immigration policies. I mean they are negating Islamic right of Hijrah. Some Muslims love the West, but I hate its decadence, and want to leave for the sake of my family's Deen, but where can we go when no Muslim country is welcoming the few like myself? I have heard the scholars talk about doing your best where you are, but its almost impossible when the people in control here are not Muslims. Then they say when you die and the angels ask why were you oppressed in the land, did not Allah make the earth big enough to make Hijrah, or how we should have more children because Allah provides for us, but yet these Muslim states are blocking the Muslims' right to make Hijrah. So when our children grow up in the West and they are not as strong Islamically as they should be we blame ourselves for being weak, but then again we are not helping one another. What can we do if we want to make Hijrah for the sake of Allah, to save ourselves from the torment of the grave? Please be frank and truthful, because our situation here is very sad. I see the children here everyday adopting more ways of the Kuffar, and then some people say when they come home from school we need to work with them, but they spend 7 hours with the Kuffar and maybe 3 hours with us. So we're at a disadvantage, Insha Allâh, you can give me some advise better than what I have mentioned.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Living permanently in a non-Muslim country is not permissible except if there is dire need. In this case, you should take care of yourself and your children not to drive towards the well-spread evils in those countries.

However, if you feel that your children are being tempted and affected by the manners of non-Muslims, then you should move from such countries as soon as possible to Muslim countries, regardless of the circumstances and lack of financial sources. Begin to plan and ask Allah's help.

Preserving one's religion is more important than preserving one's life, money, or honor.
