Zikr in the state of impurity

Question

While in the state of "Janabah" (being Junbi) can we do the "Zikr", i.e. Tasbeehat? That is in our daily routine before going to bed. Remember it includes "Ayat-ul-kursi”, "Surah al-Falaq", Surah An-Nas" and also last two Ayahs of "Surah al-Baqarah". Please do reply.

Answer

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

Supplicating Allah or making Zikr while in the state of major or minor impurity, such as a menstruating woman is permissible. Allah Says (interpretation of meaning) regarding the wise people: {Those who remember Allâh (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides,……}[3:191].

Ayisha (Radiya Allahu Anha) narrated from the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) that "He used to supplicate Allah at all times." However, reciting Qur'an during major impurity is not permissible. Ali (Radiya Allahu Anhu) narrated that "The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) used to teach us Qur'an as long as he was not in a state of major impurity."

Allah knows best.
