Question

I have a mobile phone I want to put a ring-tone, but it is music ring-tone. Is it Haram?

Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.

It is not permissible to listen to music whether the provenance is from a mobile phone or any other means.

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “Indeed there will be amongst my Ummah people who will consider adultery and fornication, silk, alcohol and musical instruments Halal.” [Reported by Bukhari]

You can easily change the ring-tone of your mobile phone to any ordinary tone without music.
