Wants her dream interpreted

Question

I got married by my choice with Muslim boy and converted in Islam. Now I am obeying Islam like any Muslim. My parents are against me and now my father died and keeps coming in my dreams as he wants something from me. Could you please explain what does it mean and what can I do for them.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

All perfect praise be to Allaah who guided you to Islam and we ask Him to make you steadfast on this religion and increase your religious knowledge.

The dreams that you are having about your father may be mixed up false dreams so do not worry about them and at Islamweb we do not interpret dreams. Rather we specialize in answering religious issues and matters.

As regards your inquiry about what you can do for your father, the answer is that you cannot do anything for him since he died as a non-Muslim. Besides, it is not permissible to supplicate to Allaah to forgive him or have mercy on him as Allaah says (which means): {It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allaah's Forgiveness for the Mushrikeen (polytheists, idolaters, pagans, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allaah) even though they be of kin, after it has become clear to them that they are the dwellers of the Fire (because they died in a state of disbelief).}[9:113].

As regards your mother, if she is still alive and has not yet embraced Islam, you have to call her to this religion and do your utmost with all possible and permissible means to achieve this, as you might be a reason of saving her from Hellfire.

Allaah knows best.
