Question
Is there a rank between Paradise and Hellfire? And who are the people of Al-A’raaf (The wall with elevations)?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
There is no rank between Paradise and Hellfire in the Hereafter, in a way that they neither enter Paradise nor Hellfire, as Allaah Says (what means): {A party will be in Paradise (those who believed in Allaah and followed what the Prophet 
brought to them) and a party in the Blazing Fire (Hell) (those who disbelieved in Allaah and did not follow what the Prophet brought to them).}[Quran 42:7].
As regards the time before Allaah judges between people, there would be a rank of the people of Al-A’raaf (The wall with elevations) and they are those whose good deeds are equal to their bad deeds, so they will be held back until Allaah judges between them.
