Death includes being killed and other forms of death

Question

We know that the Prophet Yahyaa (John), may Allaah exalt his mention, is killed. Why does the Quran say about him (what means): {And peace be upon him the day he was born and the day he dies…}[Quran 19:15]? Dying a normal death is different from being killed.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

Death as linguists define it, is the opposite of life, and it includes being killed and other types of death. Therefore, there is no contradiction. Indeed we find in history and biography books that ‘such and such person died as a martyr’, despite the fact that he was killed.

Allaah Knows best.
