Question
1st i want u to konw that i`ve 25 years old and am engaged because of my parents presure i feel so sad for that coz i did many thing i feel that am duty whith it ..1st what i want u to know that because what my mum said about and that because my groom is 1 st my manager and love me so much he is `s good features and of cours position and mony everything is so good and they love him so much and so am i but my feeling toward him like my brother and i love anotherone but he is less than him in many htings am a muslem girl and fraid of God so much and try to not make anything wrong and both of then was`t pray or do anything right and both of them now trying to make all the right thing and everything to ask god forgivness and i now that both of them try to pray and far away from mistak the problem is the one i love was working with me and he was my best colegue then he ask me to marry him 1st i refuse coz am oldest than him with 10 mounth so i was a fraid but after many times i feel towrd him that i can accept this and no problem and let him meet my father but my father refus him and tell me 1st the age and he `s in 1st step on his life he don`t `ve anything to get marriage and he accept the other one and they told me by time u `ll love him ..and of course my colegue lift the work and i asked him not call me at all coz now am engaged and he respect my word and didn`t call but he saw me many time at work befor he left it with sad face and so sick and tired and he ve a good oporunity for travel to work abroad and he new from a friend of my that i `ll let my fiance soon so he called me and tell me we `ve to get over this and try again with my mum so i asked him to not call even i finshed my egaged coz i don`t like to feel duty or make a mistake in my fiance right ..and i tolld my fiance that i don`t love and i like him as a brother and he is v good person i don`t want to make u feel unjustness so we `ve
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
We have said in a matter similar to yours: "We supplicate Allaah to protect you from evil and bad company.
Dear sister, it is strictly forbidden in Islam to mix with marriageable men or to have relations or friendship with them. So you have to end all your contacts with them immediately. For details refer to our previous Fatwa 84281."
The criterion for choosing a spouse is his/her adherence to religion and good manners as we mentioned in Fatwa 87690.
You have to listen to your parents since they have more experience in life than their children, and as a rule they are always after achieving what is in the best interest of their children as we mentioned in Fatwa 89777.
