Wife performing Ghusl before her husband after intercourse

Question

Assalamualikum, I would like to ask that after sex/intercourse with his wife who should be GHUSUL first, husband of wife? Some peoples say that woman should GHUSUL first.

Answer

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

It is permissible for the husband to perform Ghusl (i.e. ritual bath) before his wife and it is permissible for a wife to perform Ghusl before her husband, and we do not know any evidence from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) about one having to perform Ghusl before the other, and no scholar has ever mentioned this.

It is also permissible for them to perform Ghusl together. Indeed, it is confirmed that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and his wife 'Aa'ishah may Allaah be pleased with her performed Ghusl together while both being in a state of ritual impurity. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
