Question:

I am seven months pregnant and its Ramadan, and I would like to fast Ramadan but everyone tells me to ask first if I should or if I'm even allowed. Please tell me if this would harm my baby or if in Islam it is required for me to fast or not to fast....and is it the same for those who breastfeed?  Please let me know because I did fast Ramadan today and I'm worried about the baby and what should I do, I don't want Ramadan to go with out me fasting.

Fatwa:
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.
If you are strong enough, do not feel weakness and can fast easily then you have to fast. You may consult experienced ladies in your family or any trustworthy lady doctor to know whether or not fasting harms you or your baby.
Allah Knows best.
