Let us read the interesting story of ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, with the unique Quranic style and observe the smooth dialogue to see the high status of ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, for Muslims who love, revere and respect him as an honorable Prophet and an infallible human being.

Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she withdrew from her family to a place toward the east. And she took, in seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man. She said, "Indeed, I seek refuge in The Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if you should be fearing Allah.} [Quran 19:16-18]

Notice, that Maryam (Mary), may Allah exalt her mention, was an honorable and chaste lady who deemed herself far above committing adultery. She is not like those who claim to follow her and then regard adultery and homosexuality as something normal. She was amazed when the angel i.e. Jibreel, may Allah exalt his mention, told her that she would have a child, since she was not married and certainly she was not an adulterous woman. How about those women who claim to love her and yet do not follow in her footsteps and be honorable and chaste as she was?

Moreover, Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {He said, ‘I am only the Messenger of your Lord to [announce] to you the gift of a righteous son.’ She said, ‘How can I have a son while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?’ He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord Says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed [by Allah].'  So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place [i.e. Bethlehem valley about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem]. And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, ‘Oh, I wish I had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten.’ But he called her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a [water] stream. And shake the trunk of the palm tree towards you; it will drop upon you fresh ripe-dates.  So eat and drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to The Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] human being.'} [Quran 19:19-26]

Note, that ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, was not born in the winter but in the summer and that is why Maryam (Mary), may Allah exalt her mention, resorted to a palm tree. In fact, were Maryam (Mary), may Allah exalt her mention, to give birth to ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, in winter, they would both have frozen to death. Scholars state that the days of her pregnancy and childbirth were during the growth and the maturation of the palm trees.

If the Christians claim that this is considered to be one of the miracles [that prove their argument], we can simply respond that the fact that Maryam, may Allah exalt her mention, fled from the temple to be away from people is not a miracle, since she was driven by her deep fear of the unknown fate in which she found herself involved, but Allah The Exalted was there for her.

Furthermore, Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {Then she brought him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Maryam, you have certainly done an amazing and unprecedented thing.  O sister of Haaroon, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste.}[Quran 19:27-28]

Notice her psychological state, the suffering that she was living under and the great plan that Allah The Almighty decreed to save her. She fully trusted Her Lord and did not utter a word.
Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {So she pointed to him. They said, ‘How can we speak to a child in the cradle?’  ‘[Jesus] said, ‘Indeed, I am the servant of Allah. He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet. And He has made me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and Zakah (purifying alms) as long as I remain alive. And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant...}[Quran 19:29-32]
Indeed, ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, is an honorable human being who was born and raised under the care of Allah The Exalted who then sent him as His Messenger just like other prophets, may Allah exalt their mention. Undeniably, his followers will believe in him when he descends to earth at the end of time to govern the world by the Law of Allah i.e. the Islamic Sharee‘ah. Allah The Almighty Says (what means): {And there is none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a witness.}[Quran 4:159]

Moreover, ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, foretold the coming of our Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ), as mentioned in the verse that reads (what means): {And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is an obvious magic.} [Quran 61:6]

Thus, the true followers of ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, are those who believe him and believe in the unlettered Prophet; Muhammad, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) who was sent as a mercy to the worlds and as a guide to pious believers.

Honoring ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention, is a gesture that shows our love for him and all the other prophets, and this can be done by beseeching Allah The Exalted in supplication to guide us to the right path and grant us true guidance. Furthermore, we should pledge Allah The Almighty to be His sincere and obedient slaves, to adhere to His Sharee‘ah (Islamic legislation) that He has chosen for us, and to eschew vice, sins, evil and everything that might incur the anger of Allah The Almighty.

Indeed, we believe in ‘Eesa, may Allah exalt his mention; we believe that he is an honorable Messenger of Allah The Exalted and that he called people to worship Allah The Almighty alone, fulfilled his due mission and delivered the Message of Allah The Exalted.
