Question:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may his blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions. Dear Sheikh my question is regarding the new born child born in the Month of Muharram and the day of Ashoora. This is the day in which Adam was created, This is the day in which Ibrahim a.s. was born, This is the day in which Allah accepted the repentance of Ibrahim a.s., This is the day on which the Qiyamah (dooms-day) will take place, Whoever takes bath in the day of Ashurah will never get ill. My wife has already completed 7 ½ Months of pregnancy and the doctor has given the date of my child to be born inshallah by 10th Muharram i.e. on the day of Ashoorah. Is there is any significance of the person who is born or dead in the Month of Muharram or Ashoorah. I would be much pleased if you reply my question quickly. Jazakaallahu Khaira

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no Islamic evidence about the excellence of being born in the month of Muharram or on the day of 'Aashooraa' (which is the 10th day of Muharram). As far as we are aware, there is no evidence proving what you mentioned in regard to the day of the birth of Aadam (Adam) and Ibraheem (Abraham), may Allaah exalt their mention.

However, there are some narrations about applying incense on the day of 'Aashooraa' and that whoever performs Ghusl (ritual bath) on this day will never get sick, but the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them classified them as weak.

Allah knows best.
