A girl seeing supernatural abilities

Question:

Alsalamu Alaykum, please keep this private. I’m 34 years old, I’m a veiled Muslim for 7 years now Alhamdulilah, I chose the hijab on my own when I was 14 years old and had returned from USA the year before. However, my family didn’t approve they were worried when I get older I might want to take the hijab off and dress to fashion, and that’s haram. Every year we got into argument about the hijab. It took me 13 years of discussions and pleading to get veiled, it reached a point that whenever I saw a girl wearing hijab I would feel a burning in my heart and cry, I had nightmares of jinn Authu Billah. Finally, I told my family that’s it, I don’t care I am getting veiled no matter what. Alhamdulilah I put the hijab on April 9, 2000 and Inshalla will never take it off, all my nightmares stopped on that day. After I wore the hijab by 2 months I started to see and know things not usual to normal people like near future events, feel someone needs help and angels, for example The Angel of Death whom I've seen many times in a human outline frame of extreme bright light, Subhan Allah. The more I pray and become closer to God the more I see and know, If I pray less I don’t see anything. I always feel I have to do something but I don't understand what. I know that psychics are haram, knowing the near and far future is haram, only God knows what is to happen and when; and that Mohammad (PBUH) is the last and final messenger of God Alhamdulilah. No one would help me understand what was happening to me. I search for answers so long but always rejected, until one day I found tarot cards. I used them to help me find the truth. I even asked psychics during the past few weeks. They told me I’m a strong psychic and that triggered a danger alarm in my soul. Alhamdulilah, I decided to start as a true Muslim again as if it’s my first day. Could you please help me understand why all those events happened to me so I know my path, I never want to fall in the wrong path again. Thank you.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, we ask Allaah to reward you for wearing the Hijab and to facilitate for you the performance of more good deeds and to make you steadfast in doing so.

You should not preoccupy yourself with these things which you see; as they may be whispers from the devil who wants to preoccupy you with them. These things being related sometimes to your prayers does not mean that they are not from the devil, as he may mix the truth with falsehood for you in order to achieve his objective. However, these things may also be from Allaah, in which case they could be supernatural abilities granted to you.

Nonetheless, you should not preoccupy yourself with them; you should rather endeavour to be steadfast on the Right Path by performing acts of obedience to Allaah and refraining from His Prohibitions. This is what is required of you and it is on this basis that the reward or punishment on The Day of Judgment will be.

Indeed, the devil may exploit a supernatural ability –which Allaah bestowed on a person –in order to make the person proud of it until it becomes a reason for his destruction.

Allaah Knows best.
