Meaning of Jehovah, Yaweh and Jah

Question:

Is the Allah of Noble Quran is the same sovereign God called as Jehovah or Yaweh or Jah by the Christians?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

After investigation, we have concluded that both words “Jehovah” and “Jah” are Hebrew words which mean “Allaah”. It should be noted that “Allaah” in Whom Muslims believe possesses all perfect Attributes while the One whom the Jews and the Christians believe in is described by them to possess many imperfect Attributes. Both of the Jews and the Christians ascribed a son to Him. Moreover, the Jews believe that when Allaah created the heavens and the earth in six days he became tired and had to rest on the seventh day (Saturday). They also said that He is poor and miser.  Allaah, The Exalted, is High above all such falsehood which they claim. Indeed, the Quran has strongly refuted their accusations. Allaah Knows best.
