The Prophets of the children of Israel were following the Torah

Question:

Assalamu Alaykom, Were the prophets that were sent to the people of Israel (the jews) between the advent of Moses PBUH and Esa PBUH given any holy book beside the Torah? Or did they just rule using the laws of the Torah? Thank you

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

It is proven in the authentic Sunnah that the children of Israel were governed by Prophets; each time a Prophet would die, another Prophet would come. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] However, we are not aware of any religious text which states whether or not every Prophet who came between the period of Moosa (Moses) and ‘Eesa (Jesus), may Allaah exalt their mention, had a revealed Book.

However, some scholars like Ibn Taymiyyah and others may Allaah have mercy upon them stated that the Prophets of the children of Israel were following the legislation revealed in the Torah.
