Question:

Salam Alaikum, I have a question regarding recently asked fatwa # 107530 You stated that if the discharges come out of urinary tract, then it is impure and if the discharges come out of the uterus, then it is pure. My question is: How do I know where the discharges come from? Can you please state how a woman would know from which organ it comes from? So I could identify from where it is coming from? Also, since sometimes I do get an excessive amount and it is sometimes painful for me, will I get rewarded by Allah?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

The scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them stated that the wetness of the vagina of a woman is a white liquid between Mathy and sweat and this is a characteristic which a woman may distinguish between the wetness of the vagina which comes out of the uterus and the discharges which come out of the urinary tract. If she is confused and is unable to distinguish between them, then in our view in Islamweb in order to be on the safe side, she should consider this wetness as impure especially if it is impossible to distinguish between the discharges that are impure according to the view of the majority of the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them and those that come out of the uterus and are considered pure according to many scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them.

Allaah Knows best.
