Question:

What is Paradise like?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

Paradise is described in several verses in the Quran.  Allaah Says (what means):

·        {And a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous.}[Quran 3:133]

·        {The example of Paradise, which the righteous have been promised, is [that] beneath it rivers flow. Its fruit is lasting, and its shade. That is the consequence for the righteous, and the consequence for the disbelievers is the Fire.}[Quran 13:35]

·        {Is the description of Paradise, which the righteous are promised, wherein are rivers of water unaltered, rivers of milk the taste of which never changes, rivers of wine delicious to those who drink, and rivers of purified honey, in which they will have from all [kinds of] fruits and forgiveness from their Lord, like [that of] those who abide eternally in the Fire and are given to drink scalding water that will sever their intestines?}[Quran 47:15]

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah may Allaah be pleased with him the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, explained that Allaah The Almighty has prepared for His righteous followers in Paradise something that no eyes have ever seen, no ears have ever heard of, and something that has never come to the mind or heart of a human being. This is in conformity with the Saying of Allaah (which means): {And no soul knows what has been hidden for them of comfort for eyes as reward for what they used to do.}[Quran 32:17]

Perhaps the most comprehensive text that describes Paradise is the saying of Allaah (which means): {And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.}[Quran 43:71]

Allaah Knows best.
