Question:

assalamu aleykum! I have two questions. My beard grows not well, just some hairs. Can i shave it so that it will grow better? and if someone asked me to buy something by definite price and i asked for the discount and bought the same thing cheaper. Can i leave the sum of the disсount to myself and the person gave me money doesn't know because i caused the discount?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is not permissible for you to shave your beard in all cases; rather, you are obliged to let it grow freely as it is an order from the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ). The fact that your beard is only some hair and you need to make it grow better is not a sound reason for shaving it.

As regards your second question, you are not permitted to take this additional money because you are authorized to act in regard to this money, and the scholars may Allaah have mercy upon them stated that the additional money that the authorized person gets is a right for the person who authorized him, so it is not permissible to take it except with his permission.

Allaah Knows best.
