Being barren is not an impediment to marriage

Question:

Asalam i alikum I am 24 years old, i became infertile due to a groin injury, therefore i cant marry. My problem is that i masturbate regularly as i can never marry. Is it a sin, and if it is, whatelse should i do to fulfill my desires.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

If you mean that you deliberately masturbate, then this is not permissible because masturbation is forbidden, so you are obliged to repent from this. Besides, you should endeavour to get married because being barren is not an impediment to marriage; it might be that Allaah will facilitate you to have children, as He is Able to do all things.

If marriage is not facilitated for you, then this does not mean that you can fulfill your desires with what Allaah has forbidden. Rather, you should fear Allaah and be patient and stay away from things that arise your desires, like looking at forbidden things. Also, you should fast, because fasting helps you lower your gaze and keep yourself chaste, as mentioned in a Prophetic narration.
