Question:

salamalikum,my question is there any specific dua to ward trials and temptations of this life and to ward off bad fate.and to get good fate and good end in life and hereafter.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

Among the supplications that ward off trials and temptations is the supplication that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, used to say during his prayer, which reads: "Allaahumma inni a‘oothu bika min ‘athaab al-Qabr wa a‘oothu bika min fitnat al-Maseeh ad-Dajjaal wa a‘oothu bika min fitnat al-Mahya wal-Mamaat (O Allaah! I seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave. I seek refuge in You from the trial of the Antichrist. I seek refuge in You from the trials of life and death)." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Scholars said that it is permissible for the Muslim to supplicate Allaah The Almighty to alleviate the affliction and withhold His Divine Decree, by saying in the supplication of Qunoot, "Wa qini Sharra ma qadhayt (O Allaah! Protect me from the evil of what You Have Decreed)." [Ahmad, Abu Daawood, An-Nasaa'i, At-Tirmithi and Ibn Maajah] For further information about the Mubram (inevitable) and the Mu’allaq (changeable) fate, refer to Fatwa 90397.

Allaah Knows best.
