Question:

is the husband supposed to love his wife more than his kids.i have read that it is good if children grow up seeing the deep love between their parents, even more intense than the parents love for kids, coz it creates a feeling of security.and also that psychologically a man should love his wife more so that his children could also imbibe the importance of the relationship and also assure them that marriage is a blessing

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

We are not aware of any evidence that the husband should love his wife more than his children. But, undoubtedly, the woman can attain a great status in her husband's heart, which may be greater than his love for his children, by her good behaviour and by respecting her husband, adorning and beautifying herself well for him, showing kindness to his relatives, helping him be kind to them, and the like.

Certainly, the intimate relationship between the spouses greatly influences the children in terms of helping them enjoy a sound upbringing. It also contributes to them in the future, especially to their marital life. A son may take the marital relationship between his parents as a role model that he seeks to emulate with his wife in the future.

Allaah Knows best.
