Question:

salam aleikum. i have one really big problem. i think. i dont know how to explain this in short way but ever since i was child i could see jinns and feel them. i have converted to islam 2 years ago and since i have become muslim i feel things before they happen. i know that somebody have die before anybody else know. i know who is pregnant and if they will get boy or girl before they know. i knew even that i was going to be pregnant and that its a boy. and i have see my next pregnancy too in visions before i go to sleep. in every home i live there are always jinns there. not always bad jinns but i feel them. i have get use to that they are around me as long as they dont disturb me but sometimes they are bad and they make noise. this is making my husband really afraid. we listen to albaqara in the home every day, but if we forget for one day then they come and disturb us. me and my husband are practising muslims. i also dream about islam every night. that i make dawa for the people and other things. i have dream about angel jibril, the prophet and even about iblis one time. in my dream he have say for me that i should watch out cause he will make my life difficult with many test. all this things with my visions what i have about people makes me confused because i want to believe that its gift from allah but i dont know if maybe this means that im far from allah and maybe the jinns show me the visions. even yesterday my friend have wait for her husband to come home and he was late and i say for her that the police have take him. today she send me sms and say i was right. people see this thing that i have like funny or like gift but for me its problem because i want to be like normal people. i dont know why the jinns always are around me. im not afraid of them but they disturb me sometimes. even when my husband is really bad to me and hurt me he always have bad dreams.is it allah who make the bad dreams for him or the jinns? what does all this thing mean?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

First of all, we thank and praise Allaah Who guided you to Islam and we ask Him to make you firm and steadfast on His Religion until the Day you meet Him.

You should know that nothing happens in this world except with the Predestination and Will of Allaah, and that the extraordinary occurrences are one of three kinds: either a miracle for a Prophet, or a Karaamah (extraordinary act) for a Waliyy (an ally of Allaah), or a gradual dragging from Allaah and a seduction by the devil. We have already issued the ruling about it in Fataawa 101347 and 86489.

Therefore, you should be careful for what happens to you to be a gradual dragging from Allaah or a plot of the devil in order to spoil your religion.

As regards feeling things before they happen, like knowing that someone had died before the news of his death spread, or informing your friend that the police had taken her husband, then this is a restricted Ghaib (unseen) that some creatures may know and some may not know. For more benefit, refer to Fatwa 85037.

Concerning what you mentioned about the jinn, we advise you to seek the help of Allaah to repel their harm and also to recite the Quran at home especially Surah Al-Baqarah (the Cow, Quran 2). Moreover, you should be keen on performing good deeds and avoid committing sins, and you should endeavour to protect yourself and your family against Satan and his soldiers who cannot harm you except with something which Allaah predestined for you. Allaah Says (what means): {But (they) do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allaah.}[Quran 2:102] Furthermore, the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: ''Know that if the whole world gathered together to benefit you, they could not do so except by that which Allaah has destined for you; and if they gathered together to harm you, they could not do so except by that which Allaah has destined for you.” [At-Tirmithi]

With regard to your dreams about your second pregnancy, seeing Jibreel (Gabriel) may Allaah exalt his mention and the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) in a dream, then this is a good dream, Allaah willing. Abu Hurayrah may Allaah be pleased with him narrated that he heard the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) saying: ''There is nothing left from the prophecy except the things that give glad tidings. The companions asked: “What are they?” He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: ''A good dream. [Al-Bukhari]

Finally, there are some etiquettes in Islam about whoever sees a good or a bad dream. Abu Qataadah may Allaah be pleased with him narrated that the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) said: ''The good dream is from Allaah. So, if any of you sees what he likes in a dream, he should not tell it to anyone except to whom he loves, and if he sees in a dream what he fears he should spit on his left-hand side three times and seek refuge with Allaah from its viciousness and from the evil of Satan, but he should not inform anyone about it at all, and in this case, it will not cause him any harm.  [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

Allaah Knows best.
