Question:

The names of idols of the pagan Arabs are well known, including Laat, Manat, and Uzza. Which was the fourth idol that was worshipped by the pagan Arabs?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

The idols that the Arabs used to worship in the Arabic peninsula were numerous. In addition to Al-Laat, Al-‘Uzza and Manaat, they used to worship Hubal, Isaaf and Naa’ilah, and there were many others.

The Muslim historians mentioned that when the Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) entered Makkah, he found 360 idols around the Ka’bah.

Allaah Knows best.
