Souls of spouses may meet after death

Question:

Will the two deceased spouses in this worldly life also be spouses in the Barzakh life? Will they know each other and be with each other?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

The marriage contract of the two Muslim spouses who died as Muslims is not terminated by their death. According to some scholars, their souls may meet in the Barzakh life, (the period after death and before Resurrection) like the meeting of the believers’ souls who meet each other and talk. After Resurrection and Reckoning, they will enter Paradise together by the permission of Allaah. For further information, see Fataawa 83719, 87256, and 83305.

Allaah Knows best.
