Magic spell doesn't have influence on people's provision

Question:

Can a magic spell withhold or delay what a person is destined to have?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

One must be absolutely certain that only Allaah The Almighty the Creator controls people's provisions.  Nobody can grant someone something or deprive them of it except with the permission of Allaah The Almighty who Says (what means): {Whatever Allaah grants to people of mercy - none can withhold it; and whatever He withholds - none can release it thereafter.} [Quran 35:2]

It is incorrect to think that someone can prevent or delay what another person is destined to have. Such a belief indicates a fault in one’s faith that must be corrected.  May Allaah The Almighty protect us from incorrect beliefs.

Indeed, it is not enough for a Muslim to simply pronounce that Allaah The Almighty is the Provider. A Muslim must be absolutely certain that what he is meant to have and what everyone else is meant to have are in the Hands of the One who created him. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allaah is its provision.} [Quran 11:6]

The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) , said that Allaah The Almighty revealed to him that no person would die until he had completed his lifetime and had attained all that he had been destined for.  He sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) commanded us to fear Allaah The Almighty and not to pursue our goals except through lawful and good channels. This is because every person will definitely have his due sustenance. The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) informed us that what is stored with Allaah The Almighty will not be attained except by obeying Him. [Abu Nu‘aym in Hilyat Al-'Awliyaa', on the authority of Abu Umaamah: Saheeh (Authentic), Ibn Hajar ascribed it to Ibn Abi Ad-Dunya and Al-Haakim on the authority of Ibn Mas‘ood [Saheeh (Authentic)]

Allaah Knows best.
