When using a loop is permissible, placing it by a female physician is also permissible

Question:

I am female gynecologist and I know that one of the theories upon which the loop functions is that it prevents the fertilized egg from sticking to the wall of the womb. So, is it permissible for me to place it for women in cases where it is needed, knowing that it is one of the least harmful methods of contraception?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible for a woman to use the loop and if her husband is not a physician and qualified to place it, it is permissible for a female physician to assume this task. That is because it is prohibited for a woman to see this part of another woman's ‘Awrah (private parts) except for necessity, which must only be to the required extent.

Allaah Knows best.
