A person is not responsible for their dreams

Question:

What is the ruling on having erotic dreams, noting that I do not watch porn movies, praise be to Allaah, and lower my gaze as much as I can?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

 

A person is not responsible for their dreams and fantasies because they cannot control them. Allaah Says (what means): {Allaah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity.} [Quran 2:286]

Moreover the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, pointed out that three kinds of people are not held responsible for their actions (one of whom is) the person who is asleep until he wakes up. [At-Tirmithi and others]

We advise you to supplicate Allaah when going to sleep regularly and not to give full reign to your imagination and fancies.
