Question:

I am a young man from Gaza who plans to relocate to Norway after graduation and marry a relative of mine there. How can I be a caller to Islam over there? I need a methodology to follow, . For example, what books should I start to study to be effective and persuasive in my Da‘wah?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

Our dear questioner is worthy of praise for having such an enthusiastic and earnest motivation to serve the religion of Allaah the Almighty. This should be the case with every Muslim who believes in the Hereafter and in the eternal pleasure that Allaah The Almighty has prepared in Paradise for those who strive to support the religion of Allaah and to help it prevail over all other religions.

Anyone who believes in the eternal, unchangeable pleasure of  Paradise with its women, palaces, rivers and trees, as promised by Allaah The Almighty for such people, will give no weight to this vanishing worldly life. Indeed, this world is but a venue of trials, transient joys and unsettled living. In view of the obvious contrast, how can a sane person be occupied with this world and forsake the eternal bliss of Paradise? With such a comparison in mind, many a virtuous young Muslim has found his way to the Hereafter.

Our first advice is that Gaza is in dire need for its sons to remain in it. As such, it is your duty to remain there.

As to your question on traveling abroad for marriage and practicing Da'wah, kindly refer to the following Fataawa for related information: 86405, 82552.

Whoever wants to call others to Allaah The Almighty has to combine an understanding of religion with an understanding of reality and current affairs from an Islamic perspective. You are primarily required to learn and apply what you intend to invite others to. The worthiest thing of learning and of inviting others to is sound beliefs, which can only be found in Islam. There are many books on Islamic ‘Aqeedah (Islamic creed and belief). There are also different books that discuss what a Muslim needs in his worship and dealings with others, so we recommend you enlighten yourself in this regard as well.

We ask Allaah The Almighty to guide all people to do what He likes.

Allaah Knows best.
